I met my future wife when I was 18 1/2 and she was 16. She was about to start college and I was about to enter my junior year. At the time, we were intellectually gifted. We were also very young and immature.
After about 40 years of marriage, we have become less intellectually gifted and are now middle aged and immature. We are both very much in touch with our "inner child."
Our twin sons (who are publicity-shy and will therefore remain nameless) are in their mid-'30's. We have a 6-year-old grandson, and I really don't yet know his feelings about publicity.
Two of my closest friends are my two sisters. They are chronologically younger than I am but claim to be more mature than I. Sounds like a bogus claim to me.
My wife and I do not expect to have any more children. We enjoy being empty nesters, and have thus far avoided getting a dog as a pet. I used to refer to my wife as my "cell-mate;" but she told me that the proper term was "soul-mate." I humbly stand corrected.
